Sun Protection Products

IN WORK

Calamine lotion: good for helping with the itchies. A couple of people in the group have found calamine lotion to be good for itching.

Swimsuits: Some companies offer full body suits for protection from the sun. A two piece suit might be better for a growing child. When the suit is too big, the crotch is too low. When the suit is too small, the crotch is uncomfortable.

Swimshirts: I have found swimshirts at Costco or Sams club; otherwise you can find them a companies offering sun protection products. The swimshirts offer good UV protection.

Solumbra is the fabric used by Sun Precautions. It is a light weight, synthetic type  material. Clothing is constructed with special features to keep the wearer cool and  protected from the sun. Maintenance is easy: machine wash & line dry. I would   recommend the clothing highly. I have an athletic shirt and a cap from them. My  items look like new after several years. Personally, I'd like the company to add more  variety. And I find the products rather expensive (but I buy most of the family   wardrobe at discount stores). They have clothes for men, women and children. They  also carry specialty items like masks, arm protectors, mitts, and a variety of sunblocks.   The customer service reps are extra-helpful and will help you determine your correct  size, as well as best items for your specific needs. Clothing, hat etc. They offer SPF fabric by the yard for anyone who likes to make their own clothes.  They also sell Total Block and Solbar. (I purchased from them a few years ago. -Accents)
